Is there anyone here that could tell me if it would be able to run UptoDate?

For me, that's the only deciding factor on whether I'm going to pick one up or not.

So if I use Micro Emulator do I need Jalimo to run J2me applications? or could I use the Micro Emulator with the Java SE for ARMv6 with my N810? I am interested in porting it. I have scratchbox and Freemantle SDK but I would need some guidance. thanks

Java is used on certain websites.
Facebook's photo upload for example.
Also certain corporate logins are Java-based.

It is a blunder of the internet to have so widely adopted Java applets and integrated Flash.

On the "desktop" side, there are bloated programs such as Azureus/Vuze.

openjdk is not acceptable substitution for Sun's jdk. Most embedded java applets such as facebook's simply won't load at all. It's about as useful as having Flash 9, when the website wants Flash 10.

If you think that's true, then start poking Sun, since there's no free "blessed" JDK for ARM other than OpenJDK. Which , fortunately, I'd expect to have nearly full compatibility with Sun's JDK since they're based in mostly the same code.

Didn't you read the part it says "evaluation software"? It is neither free as in beer nor free as in freedom.

It is just a 30day evaluation version and does not work in scratchbox :(

Eew. that's horrible. I just got that posted to me when I complained in some other thread. Well perhaps it's coming. *fingers crossed*
