Re: Request: 2012 Doomsday Clock
Ideally you would have a countdown clock with days, hours, minutes, seconds, and hundredths of seconds using a Nixie tube font. The inclusion of hundredths of seconds allows constant motion in the display.
Then you'd add a voice recording to speak each minute: "DD days, HH hours, and MM minutes to Doomsday". Realistically, let's not and say we did. |

I wa also thinking that since the N900 might not have shipped by then have some people from Fremantle jump onto this projet.

Re: Request: 2012 Doomsday Clock
I fully expect, of course, an incredible change in everything come December 21, 2012.
But I don't see how we can have a clock that shows the countdown in hours, let alone minutes or seconds, as all I know to be on the lookout for is: December 21, 2012. If anyone is privy to the precise minute or second, please let us know so that we can adjust our plans accordingly. Since my expectations are based on Mayan science, I believe the clock should be in synch not with the local time on one's Maemo device, but on whatever time it is in the Mesoamerican highlands, which is Greenwich Mean Time less 6 hours. So let's all get synchronized. I don't want to be just hanging out for 7 hours after Benny1967 ascends or blows up, 6 hours after lcuk reaches enlightenment, or 3 hours after YoDude is teleported. I think all us Maemo-Mayans should blast off together. |

Why not, it's actually the rumored release date for the Nokia N1020, coming out just after the N1000 somewhere in 2011... ;-)

Re: Request: 2012 Doomsday Clock
Ideally the app should recognize when it hits -1 (Mayan time), breath a sigh of relief, and then start counting down to the Unix apocalypse:
