Good news. Installing now!

Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
Let me know how it goes...
If you're updating from fremantle13, probably it won't start the first time you run it (no idea why, yet)... but then it works fine. |
Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
Great application! Can't wait to get the N900 and try it out. Especially if I can get it before next Wednesday, I can use it for notes on Thursday and Friday :)
Thanks! |
Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
Great app. Tested PDF. good ish! I can actually consider taking notes on downloaded PDF books while I'm reading them.

Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
Just a note here, just in case some people haven't fully looked into this feature...
When you annotate a PDF, it saves the annotation in the .xoj file, which is linked to the PDF. It does not actually modify the PDF directly - you have to export the .xoj + .pdf as a new PDF, via the menu. If you don't do this, you'll wind up submitting the original, un-annotated PDF, which is probably less than useful. :P Also beware that moving the PDF on disk will break the link to it from the .xoj file (IIRC). |
Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
I think the only things that could make xournal better are:
1) Ability to select and move/resize text (similar to how windows vista/7 tablet pcs work) 2) A way to leave the shape recognizer on. For some reason it keeps on turning off while I write. (note: I actually do use xournal on an n810 to take notes in class) but other than that, I love it. I can take notes pretty decently on the n810 screen, but I don't know how well I would be able to write on the smaller screen of the n900. |
Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
An added feature would be to write a note then be able to do an immediate "send" through email without having to "save" first. It would automatically save the file as "Attach01" and send in a PDF format.

Re: Xournal - What a sweet app
I was considering the idea.
When you hit the Share button, it'll ask you to Save the modified version and then it'll automatically export it to PDF in a temporary location and send that one. Or ask if the user wants to also save the PDF version just sent... Not sure.. what do you like best? Aniello PS: please note that when you're opening PDF with multiple pages, Xournal does process the pages in background while showing you the processed ones. This can slow down the tablet a bit and can take time. |

What ever is the fastest. I would like to hand write a note and do a quick "send to email contact" of a pdf file without saving or naming the file. |
