Re: Sprint Service + Phone ?+ N810
Sprint did change this, so you will definitely need to get some 3rd party application to allow tethering, especially if PAM (phone as modem) is not available.
I was tethering my N810 to my Sprint Palm Treo 755p (PalmOS) without issue for at least 5 months, but then it stopped working. Confirmed with a Sprint rep that they had changed something. So I tried to use PDANet (which is what I used to tether my Windows notebook to my Treo), but that won't work on a Linux device. So I had to spring for USBModem by Mobile Stream. It's pricey (for a Palm app) at $25, but I'm back in business again with tethering so it's worth it. I did try to go the legit way and asked the Sprint rep if PAM was available now that they'd killed tethering and he said no. I'd asked when I got my first Nextel/Sprint phone but was told they don't offer it in my area of the country, and apparently that hasn't changed. I would advise against getting a "dumb phone" because you will probably need an app to tether, so you'll want a WM, Blackberry, or Palm phone. Good luck! -- Chris |

Well, I ended up getting a Black Berry Curve 8330 anyone have any info for tethering a BB with the n810, so far I've only be able to find a third party app called tetherberry for windows. Which won't do me any good.
