what is it that people you think were expecting? my expectations of this device were low, mainly because its a 1st gen device, and honestly a pretty raw product. no i didnt think this device would be like other smartphones, and thats probably why im not dissapointed. get real people. the bleeding edge isnt all fast paced glorious tech porn. its a ****ed up place where the people who give a flying **** strive to make things better for the masses. this my friends is a fact that is nearly never accounted for, and should more often be. bad hardware is bad hardware. happens to everyone once or twice. i can say that the build quality on the device is stellar. no issues for me. point being, patience everyone...things will get better. alot better. the more of these that are sold worldwide the better for the community. wait and see. |

Re: guesstimate how many N900s theyve sold so far
Seeing the sales figure for Asia, it's huge!
I'm not sure why N900 isn't hitting the Asian market yet. Nokia will make loads... Also noticed - Nokia announced and commenced shipments of the Nokia 3720 classic, a rugged handset designed to resist water, dust and shock. Love it. Probably gonna get myself a 3720 when I go hiking! instead of carrying the useless N900 while in the jungle :p |
Re: guesstimate how many N900s theyve sold so far
obviously, they sold more than they produced.
or what exactly is the reason i still dont have my n900 in my own hands? |

The amount of sold touchscreen devices will definitely go up A LOT. The 5230 has a really good price/performance ratio, and will sell better than the 5800 because of it. And the N97 mini, X6 and N900 offer a very strong high-end consumer product (all-round smartphone, music/fashion focussed and cutting edge slightly geek oriented). I wonder if/when Symbian touch devices will pass iPhone in total units sold. The same for Maemo and Android (also if/when). |

Re: guesstimate how many N900s theyve sold so far
I agree with phreck, all this is very similar to Linux for me in general. I get excited whenever Yum/Apt tell me there is huge *** update to my Linux systems. Sure sometimes things just break but you also get upgrades and new features. I am pretty sure Maemo (N900) experience would be similar as well from what people do so far with the previous NITs.
