Re: [better] email client for N900?

I apologize up front because I have not had a chance to play with my n900... it is sitting in a box 5k miles away...

But all your email is able to be threaded back to the associated contact, right? does nokia messaging play well with this functionality? I use nokia messaging on my 5800xm and have had no issues configuring it other that I wish that it would support my lotus notes corporate account.

That was one of the funniest posts I've seen here in a while!

Folks FOCUS! The Op asked a simple question...stop navel gazing on a leaf when the forest is burning.

Fact E-mail client has only 30% of the functionality of a comparable e-mail client, as examples Claws on N810 or Profimail on Symbian.

No amount of tips or tricks will make these features materialize.

Options 1 port Claws - anybody have constructive input on this?

Option 2 contact existing e-mail package vendors, like Lonely Cat Games-Profimail publisher and request a port to Maemo. Independent developers will not invest time and dollars if they don't see a market.

Yes the e-mail client is weak.... how much is a better e-mail client worth to you?

I believe this has been discussed elsewhere, but the problem is:

Nokia determines whether or not to make Nokia Messaging available based upon the cellular provider with which the phone is used. For instance, with an AT&T SIM in my N900, Nokia Messaging appears as a service provider option when creating a new account in Modest. Power down, pull the SIM, power back up, and the Nokia Messaging option is nowhere to be found.

What do you mean SIM users? I'm on Tmo US, and I have no such option for Nokia Messaging.

are you sure? have you closely checked all of your providers? Because some users have access.

I'm on T-Mobile and I see Nokia Messaging as a service.

Yes, I'm sure. I don't have that option.
