Nokia is not creating any images in the US. Most of the time, Nokia is not even being mentioned. Smartphones making it into the short list are: iPhone, Palm Pre, Motorola Droid, and the Blackberry. The rest may not even exist, as far as US "analysts" care.

Carriers do the image creation, not the OEMs, in the US.

When it comes to bandwidth, there's no such thing as too much or too fast. I want 1080p in real time. :D

Download restrictions suck.
Bandwidth throttling sucks.
American carriers suck.

Not necessarily; I've done that (not from the N900 yet, but from a laptop) because the servers are almost always remote managed and don't have physical consoles, so even on the rare occasions when you're stood right there it's simpler to SSH in.
