Re: Artists and designers - I need help: sheep!
if someone can draw a field it can be used to as a background in an app i just pushed to extras-devel this morning
its called (surprisingly) sheepdrawing and lets you draw sketches over the top of a selectable image (hence me wanting a background scene) there is a submit button which runs an at the moment bare script that someone can work on to push completed sketches/pictures directly into this thread (it needs wget magic that i havent time to sort out cos I am in work today..) i also put back selectable pen color, did a bit of testing last night. ie get some shell friend to muck around automatic submitting, and we can all play pushing sheep pictures (or anything else..) i request tmo username/password/threadid as parameters and push those to the script along with filenames of sketch and finished image) it really does just need the bit of glue to push to server |

My Shot at the Field let me know if you see any changes you want. I have it in svg format and in png. Heres both. Took about 10 minutes I could do better with more time. I think ground needs some color variations and maybe less hills.

http://liqbase.net/sheep/sheepdrawing_test1.JPG http://liqbase.net/sheep/sheepdrawing_colorselect.JPG utterly silly, and needs thicker lines and the upload script working.. also needs lots of ux love :) |
Re: Artists and designers - I need help: sheep!
U guys are mental :D
On my department, I have the accelerometer library ready (from other project), so two lines of code and we can move the sheep with our device :) |
Re: Artists and designers - I need help: sheep!
heh hopbeat, cool
the accelerometer part is simple (as we know) it needs to be able to load in a bitmap and do collision detection/avoidance sheep must "prefer" to be in the low valleys and will need real tip of the device to get up the hills ive been doing some testing using this and trying to get the "sheep" to stay in the low (dark) areas and to follow along. the algo is a bit tricky but my particle subsystem works well (liqflow with just ~10 bigger particles instead of hundreds) http://liqbase.net/sheep/sheepdog_grass1.png |
