Re: nokia n900 and hebrew (office)
PR1.1 changed the rx-51 and I lost the Hebrew keyboard.
I tried to copy Matan's new-rx-51 file again, but when I run setxkbmap it gives me an error message: "Error loading new keyboard description" Any ideas? |
Re: nokia n900 and hebrew (office)
The file http://my.arava.co.il/~matan/770/n900/rx-51 is my current , and it does work in PR1.1.

Thanks, I'll try downloading it again. I used whatever I had from a week or two ago.
And don't you sleep? |
Re: nokia n900 and hebrew (office)
A small "hebrew" offtopic - I was trying to get some help regarding another change in PR 1.1, that doesn't allows to write first letter in hebrew (don't know about other languages...) while using the uKeyboard, here:
http://talk.maemo.org/search.php?searchid=6190011 but it didn't get any responses... currently it happens when writing SMS or the "Notes" app. Has any of you experienced this (or Matan maybe you have a solution) ? |
Re: nokia n900 and hebrew (office)
Matan,
I loaded the current rx-51 and it does work, but doesn't seem to have the hebrew. Am I missing something? Sorry for the bother and thanks for the help, Bennie |

Re: nokia n900 and hebrew (office)
Run in xterm
xmodmap -pke | grep A.a And see that the penultimate word is hebrew_shin. If not the configuration is wrong. Perhaps you selected a language other that English? If it does, how do you switch to Hebrew? You should use Shift+FN+Right arrow. |
Re: nokia n900 and hebrew (office)
i get 'xmodmap: not found'.
My 1st language is English (USA), 2nd language is "עברית (ישראל". I don't switch to hebrew with your workaround for physical keyboard (just reflashed), I switch to hebrew with the three lines button on the "on-screen" keyboard, that's where the problem is... |
