umm, you mention the package with "wget", where is IT?!

just type "apt-get install wget" as root.
it's part of the Extras repository, it just isn't listet in the GUI.

Why putty,
Because it can save a list of servers easily and their settings.
Because on my G1 I can EASILY create desktop shortcuts of individual servers via putty.

As for the rest of the command line utils, thanks for all for letting me know where to get them.

seriously, wtf !?

Why am I a troll just for wanting putty. I love putty. Get over it. I am not a troll, some people may have other preferences than you do. The current putty client that works with n900 was for older maemo devices not the n900 so there are some quirks.

I think you are a troll. The above are my wish list, granted some are there and I did not know that on the second day I got my N900.

Yes most of the required command line are there but each in its separate package, on linux there are many useful commands that are insalled by default that is what I want the full versions of the commands either installed by default or grouped in one apt-get package to get them all at once. If there is such a package or meta package enlighten me.

And come on, wget and bash and that stuff is all right there in the repositories, just apt-get install them... And grep is built-in...

And what does "more debian support" mean, exactly?

(BTW: nice to see you back, fatalsaint!)

N900 has the best call-log ever. It's called SQLite. very good at keeping the Mrs from seeing who I phoned.

Great hacker phone. Now we just need a way to dial in hexadecimal.
