Yeah, disabling extras-testing did fix it.

Vote for it if you are affected.

Post here if Application Manager works for you with extras-testing enabled.

Remove "non-free" from the "Components" line of the extras-devel repository temporarily, and it'll start working again.

Just remember to put it back when they fix the problem. :)

Previous posts seemed abiguous on that point. I just removed "non-free" and Application Manager started working again. (I installed what I was looking for.)

Since I keep extras-testing disabled, I put non-free back in before re-disabling it.

That's probably safest. I just left a note in the calendar (boy, It's nice having one! :)) for tomorrow to re-enable non-free, as I like keeping -testing enabled.

The package freeciv-data was removed from extras-testing and bug 7220 has been closed. This was considered to be a repository bug rather than an Application Manager bug. But shouldn't the failure have been more graceful? Maybe ignore the bad package, or, at most, auto-disable the one repository. What happened instead was that the Application Manager lost almost all functionality.

Does anyone know whether apt-get still functioned with extras-testing enabled during the time that the Application Manager was broken?

Re: Application Manager Operation Failed

I am getting this error now in the app manager (operation failed). Anyone else getting it? From the bug report I see it had to do with the repos.

Re: Application Manager Operation Failed

I have similar problem, but more complicated. When I open App manager it says operation failed, but there are no catalogs if I try to open application catalogs.

What should I do? Anybody?

Also if I try to add new catalog it does not do that.I restarted phone couple of times and did not get to work.

here is my log:
hildon-application-manager 2.2.51-1
apt-worker closed connection.
apt-worker exited.
apt-worker is not running.
