Re: N900 problems.. NOT!

How do I check if it has charged to 100 percent? I am only going by the battery indicator. Also how do I adjust the power for the wi-fi? Cheers.

My battery drains really fast as well. It only lasts 12 hours with reasonable usage. Mostly with wi-fi. I have disabled the facebook widget as it was constantly using 20 - 50 percent cpu uasge.

I never used the facebook widget. i tested it during 2 days.

day 1: Full charge over night, normal use (calls, sms, applications,games BUT NO WI-FI): At midnight i still had 1/4 battery.

Day 2: Full charge overnight: First thing in the morning, wi-fi on, check e-mail, wi-fi off (5min tops). normal use and by 2 pm, battery out. Then, full charge, no use and by bed time, less than half the battery.

day 3: REBOOT. Charge over night. 2 phone calls, 5 sms and 15 min of music (mp3). Now, battery still full.

Just the fact of turning on Wi-fi and then turning it off will forever drain you battery until reboot. It's a bug and it has been discussed in this board before. Hope it's corrected in the next firmware

Ok will reboot and charge it and see how it goes tomorrow without using wi-fi.

immediately after the phone states it is fully charged, open xterminal and type this:

lshal | grep perc

it should give you the percentage.

To enable power saving on the wfi follow the steps:

Settings -> Internet Connections -> Connections

Select your wifi connection and press Edit then :

Next - > Next -> Next -> Advanced

Then click on the Other tab and change WLAN transmission power to 10 mW and power saving to On (maximum)

press Save - > Finish -> Done -> Save

You should be ready now.

In any case, make sure you disable the wifi when it is not needed

I hope this helps

Thank you Yorg. I've done that already and the problem is still there. Wi-fi is always disable when not in use and once activated and the deactivate it keeps working in background or at least it seams so.

Thanks for this yorg. Did that xterminal thing and it said that my battery was at %87 after a full charge :/. How did you get it to charge all the way? Cheers.

I also have had zero problems. In fact, the only problem is that my wife hates the N900 because I'm aways fondling it & not her.

OMG. Get over it for once. It is ONLY A DEVICE.
