I never tried to delete it. And AFAIK, it doesn't seem to impact my battery.

Just go to internet connections in the control pannel, click internet connections and delete if from there.

I had this applet installed and have been suffering from severe battery depletion - i couldnt even go a day on standby. after removal the adhoc wifi was still present, now ive deleted it we'll see how it goes today. i wish there was just one big master offswitch for wifi - i rarely use it!

I have the same problem, how can i realy delete it? Because when i only delete it in the Internet connections its still there, my pc found it.... Please help

Hi! Deleting it from saved connections worked for me.

If your pc can see it probably means you've got enabled ad-hoc mode in the connectivity manager...
