How do you know if you get an update? I just looked and I am on the internet2 as well. One thing to note is that my sim card is probably 10 years old.. would it be advantageous to get a new sim?

I had a system message on my phone "Carrier has updated settings...apply?"

I had a sim card that was about 6 years old and I could set the N900 to use either the internet2 or epc service. A few days ago I put in a brand new sim card, but now only the epc settings work for 3G.

I tried to manually set it to epc and i'm getting a t-mobile webpage stating a subscription upgrade is required.. I'm using the 10$ unlimited internet plan. Is it worth it to upgrade?

:edit: I've been with t-mobile since it was voicestream and I've never been notified of any new carrier settings hehe.

you should not have to upgrade. Call tmobile and tell them your internet is not working. I had the same problem with an N97. First they told me I had to upgrade to the smartphone plan, then they found that my account was just not configured right on their side. No problems since.

Do ya'll guys have the web2go service? or the full ''smart phone internet'' plan? And what APN?

I have web2go, internet2.voicestream.com APN, and live in Houston. I get 1.6 Mega Bits down

Hmm, it's actually working fine.. I think? :) I'm not to sure I want to call them and then they realize I do have a smart phone and force me to upgrade.

Yeah, but once on the phone, they may bump him to the $25 plan...happened to me, even after trying to tell them I was "shopping phones". I'd wait to see if speeds change on Internet2 plan before calling for support.

Again, I had the Internet2 APN, on the $10 plan, and was good for 3Mb down in Philly, not in MD where I am. Not sure if I was in range of a 7Mb tower when I was in Philly though, but just confirmation that the Internet2 APN is good for more than 1Mb as most people are getting.
