I have made Skype and SIP calls over 3G on my N900 and calls are FANTASTIC. Same call quality as regular GSM mobile.
I am super impressed. My N95 couldn't handle SIP. |

If you want to save battery, because you're very close to the router, 10mW is better. |

Are there multiple choices in protocols that N900 can use to stream the audio with SIP calls? Don't know much about those, but I do know that SIP as a protocol has nothing to do with this.

thanks for the answer. i'll give pbx a try .... but what i need it something that should be easy. the sip application should send a caller id .... that goes through the sip server to the receiver f the call. on my n82 and on other nokia phones (n95 for eg) ... in sip settings there is a field "public user name" .... here if i add "sip:+mymobile_no@nonoh.net" (i use nonoh) , when i make a sip call, the receiver of my call sees my mobile phone # .... not some strange no .... or private call .... |

i use nonoh.net there are some general account settings ... i register my mobile phone # ... but it won't forward the caller id # by default ... it needs to be sent by the sip application with this "public user name" filled ... there id # is sent otherwise ... the recever sees "private call" or same strange # or a call center # |
