Re: Commercial ebook reader

I'm reading kindle books on my N810 using Fbreader. Here's how:
1) Install Kindle for PC on a Windows machine.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000426311
2) Download skindle from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?wzjiimfmzdo
and remove the DRM from the kindle book instructions here:
http://stream-recorder.com/forum/ski...and-t6219.html
3) Try and open the resulting file using Fbreader. If you get a message saying "unsupported compression method". Dowload Calibre here: http://calibre-ebook.com/downloadnload
and use it to convert the file (with the DRM removed) from mobi to mobi or better mobi to epub. The file should then load in Fbreader. Alternatively buy the new $139 Kindle here:

Re: Commercial ebook reader

I have two three ebook readers on my N900. Trying to get one of them to work. I have fbreader, mebook and Debian reader. I can't get any of them to find the books I have on my N900 except with a lot of juggling and fooling arouind I do have a few on fbreader but it isn't easy.

I have not gotten the others to find my books yet either. If I click on the ebook it asks for a program to read it and when it brings up the different programs it brings up fbreader but not the others. Something said my/documents/?????? I don't know where to find "my/documents????" I have documents but not My/documents. I might have confused you with this one but I wouild just like to read my books.

The ebook formats I have downloaded are epubs and .pbd.

Any advice please????

Thanks,
Bobby

Yes, Skindle has worked well for me. It's quite easy.

Re: Commercial ebook reader

Yes I have Dorian installed. I just can't find out how to make it find my books. Also when I download .ebub books on my PC to transfer to my N900 it gives me a zipped folder with about five or six things in it.
Its not like downloading a .pdb book which will transfer easliy to my devices.
I am probably doing something wrong---maybe how to download to my N900 instead of to my PC.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bobby

Well, an EPUB file IS a zip-archive, so that isn't too surprising. Try, to ensure the book is properly downloaded, installing the epubreader extension for Firefox, and use that to open the file.

As for Dorian - Library -> Add, if memory serve.
