Sorry. I got wrong information form another topic. Reason might be POP or IMAP differences or maybe guy who gave this hint used Exchange.

anyone know how i can get it to delete messages from the email server as well as the phone? cant seem to see it in the settings.

I have the same problem here: After have setup POP email account I have more than 500 emails marked as unread.
I tried everything but could not select all the messages and mark them as read. On MFE accounts the mail are marked read if you read on the PC side with outlook but this does not happen with POP account. Perhaps I'm missing something...please help me...I can't do this one by one ! |

I want to empty my phone from all emails. I have gmail and I don't want to lose the email messages from the server. only from the phone. how can I do this? thanks |

Remove the account and add it again as POP3. Then mails will not be synced andwjen you delete mails from the phone they will stay on the server. Remember to check 'keep a copy of nessages on the server' when you set up POP3
