Re: Yaspot (spotify client)

What do I need to install to solve the libdespotify.so missing error?

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)

You need a premium account with desptify. Like all other maemo spotify clients, this one uses despotify, hence you need a premium account.

the package is missing the despotify dependency. if you don't have another spotify client installed you need to manually install despotify.

in xterm type:
Code:

sudo gainroot
apt-get install despotify

this client has pretty nice functionality, I especially like that it opens the album. Crashes if you move around too quickly.

Could be that he despotify library might need some work for these spotify client to be more stable.

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)

This is actually pretty close in functionality to the beloved Spotify client on my old 5800XM, which I was sceptical there'd ever be a decent N900 equivalent of.
Click on the album and it plays the whole album, with cover art.
Click the artist and you get a biography.
Works well in background, with a very occasional skip.
Just needs sorting of the columns and playlists (+offline?), now.

The guy behind this needs to come forward and take a bow.

Usability is better compared to Qtify. Jammed few times with high bitrate option and can sometimes hear breaks as in Qtify.
Thank you whoever developed this.

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)

it isn't so hard to find out the author:
http://maemo.org/packages/view/yaspot/

e: and for the future:

when a package can be found in extras-dev, extras etc repos, visit http://maemo.org/packages
front page has a search function in the middle of the page.
