Well, yes and no. Look on the bright side: you can switch from ATT!

My speed is the same in Austin. But iPhone users here have about the same speeds (usually a bit faster, but not by much).

sorry

no programmer in the world could do what was suggested in this post. Nokia foresaw this problem and would not fix it.

sorry buddy...

Its a double edged blade, no support for 3G, but it also means they cant charge you for 3G. I got the N900 on that basis because any of the other good "smartphones" require you to get a contract for 2 years with some obscenely expensive data plan.

I guess you can buy without a contract but at a huge increase in cost, and I hear now that even if you buy a phone without the contract when you go to get service they still may require you to get the data plan.

Most people say the 2G Edge unlimited for $15 a month is pretty good for AT&T for general stuff like email & IM, thats a much more reasonable price, I couldnt pay $40 or so a month for internet on my phone when I already pay $40 for internet in my house and I am in a wifi zone 98% of the day.

Now if your a traveling person and dont have super high speed fiber optic internet at home & work like me, it could be a totally different opinion on the matter, or some people that make more money than me can pay the $40 or so for 3G without even thinking about it twice.
