Yeah, it rebooted for me on gmail once too. I should have clarified that it wasn't always when gizmo was running, but I'm pretty sure it's only behaved this way after it was installed. A shot in the dark, I confess....

My problem with Gizmo wasn't installation-- it installed just fine. I was never able to log into my account over the 770 or my laptop. Both produced the same error, just saying the account could not be accessed. Could not get an answer from anyone as to the cause.

2nd account still not available on N770 version

Hi,
Could someone here confirm that the 2nd account facility which exists for long on desktop versions, is available on N800 version too?
This would be useful but is missing on the N770

Not any longer : the armel.deb package you can download from the Gizmo website installs just fine on the 770, and the secondaty SIP account now works :-)

Is that what you're describing, or is it worse than that (perpetual makes it sound pretty horrible)??

Reflashed now, fresh start. I'll watch carefully for extra behaviour on newly installed apps.

For now, I can live without gizmo :D.

Perpetual rebooting is horrible. Very. Good to know it can be fixed easily. If I get it again, then it's probably not gizmo.

I have used it many times with varied success.

Howdy Gang...

Its interesting... I just finished a 2 hour chat with my Brother in Denver using my 770 and Gizmo... had the 770 sitting on my desk and had a great conversation... was like he was in the same room with me.

Also... I have had 2 accounts on GizmoProject running on the 770 since I first installed the original 770 version... has always "just worked"!

That's all for now... "Over and Out"

Omega

This is the second time I have read someone mentioning this ... what was wrong with the location of the mic on the 770? I plop it down flat on the desk in front of me and use it like a speaker-phone and it works great. Or you could turn the volume *way* down and hold the 770 to your ear (and admittedly look like a dork) for more private converations and the mic will be in the right spot. Now that the N800 has the mic on the top, it seems a little more awkward to me. If you have it flat, you have to turn it upside-down. If you have it on the stand, the mic is pointing away from you.

Yes ... I couldn't agree with you more. I am a bit stunned that this was not a primary feature introduced with the N800. From what I understand, there are people working on it but it is not high priority.

I consider VoIP + 770/N800 a convenient and cost effective option in places like airports (particularly overseas), rather than from my home or office, when I have access to an array of options and calling devices.
Looking like a dork is a gentle term for talking to the edge of your 770 in such a crowded place…

I too have used lots of time Gizmo to make landline calls, without big problems.

Most of the people i call, tough, complains about that few seconds in which the call is delayied once just started :|
