If you want info on the web then the iphone is not the deivce, 40% of sites are now flash, if you want it on email then do what I siad above if its what you need, on Facebook.... Well son your in the wrong company. Try jobsearch.com.

The N900 works on exchange as long as your admin knows how to set it up properly. Im not going to tell you how, or him how as if you dont know you should not have an N900.

Its Quite simple boy, E business ready, N consumer ready.

If "booring Blackberry" comes to an end I will eat my hat you clown, its BES server technology, which gives you traceability. Which no other service does. Try working for a law firm without it.

You do know working for $1 store and needing provisioning because you cant afford to host mail servers is not 70% of the US industry dont you?

Little tip.... I can take control of you iPhone at any time... if thats your company phone then well done on being ******ed... well done system security.. well done...

See paragraph structure.

I think you need get your genome tested for large holes related to obviously large defects in your neuronal migration. Yes, I have a company phone and it happens to be blackberry. It does it job, but its boring and I used E71, no problem for it to sync with my server (although it took nokia 4 firmware updates before they figured out a serious bug with calendar syncing on the exchange), E51 no problem syncing with my server, N900.......can not sync due to provisioning. Vitaly here on the MfE thread is aware of the problem.

Its ******s like you that feed the NOKIA self satisfaction, when there are plenty of problems to solve.

mate as many have said on this forum

if you are not satisfied with the N900 NOW and have to ASK OTHER PEOPLE to REAFFIRM your purchase, then SELL YOUR n900 now or return it and get a phone that you are happy with

as many have pointed out here, Nokia dont have to do jack and has promised you nothing, and based on previous history on prior phones they most likely wont do anything else major

so if you are not happy with n900 RIGHT NOW, return/sell the phone and get something else that does

end of story really

I did mate. iphone 3GS does the trick for me

I disagree.. I was at a corporate event last week with a presentation by Microsoft pushing Windows7 and mentioning their announcement of Windows Mobile 7.

Anyway, lots of people seem to have Blackberries and E71s. A few iPhones around and other brands. I got a few looks for taking notes using Xournal :P

Anyway, my Blackberry Bold was used a lot more and still had lots of battery power left. The n900 used battery power even quicker, and the iPhone is even worse handling power consumpyion. Blackberries/E71s will stick around for a while as they last a lot longer (ok i could put in a sexual metaphor now but I wont) and people still prefer physical qwerty keyboards.

this seems to be going a little off thread here ! i am posting this from my n900 , i don't want to return it , i like it . a lot. full stop.

the actual point was does anyone know if or when nokia may start to support their own " experiment" ??

i am aware i could sell it and buy something else, the point is i don't want too , i guess i will have to try and learn to do stuff myself or make suggestions to keep the device fresh..

James, firstly welcome to the forum and apologies on behalf of the saner people that your thread got hijaaked.

Maemo has always been a platform for hackers/developers and people that like to play with the device themselves. Nokia is a huge corporation but the Maemo team are only a tiny part of that organisation.

The N900 is billed as a step 4 of 5 by Nokia in that it isn"t quite a device ready for the masses yet. The early adopters that Nokia intended the device for enjoy being part of the force that shapes then next iteration (as we did with Diablo).

We are still in the early days of Maemo 5 and Nokia tend to release and then develop rather than keep everything secret and release when finally all done. Hopefully you will get used to being part of the support through this community.

Enjoy!

Re: Support for n900 ???

ever think that nokia is just putting more people into making meego way better and are trying to have an n900 firmware ready for the next firmware update? Personally, I would like to have a firmware update in the first of q2 that has meego plus many other updates/fixes that we have been waiting for. It would be like christmas all over again! Anyone that returns their n900s clearly bought it as an impulse buy and should not complain about it. For example, a friend of mine at work bought a droid and returned it because he hated it. I am just saying you need to research the right phone for you before you go out and buy it.

Re: Support for n900 ???

this is my point entirely the whole research the phone before you buy it mentality, this is not meant to be rude , but it may sound a bit ... i did research the handset , eg what it did etc and what it could do, but how could i actually know the meego thing was happening , which is a bit of a smokescreen to the fact nokia "it seems" have not got the support there or the apps or the games or the websites or anything there in place .

that makes me sound awfully whiney , i am not , i love the form factor, the things it can do etc , just feel a bit narked right now as i guess a lot of people do ....

Am i wrong ? honestly , hand on heart i just want enjoyment from my product !!!!

James
