It's also rebooting again and again. Is it normal?

If this happens, then flash also eMMC that solves the problem. Just make sure that you safe the stuff on you mass memory.

Have you tried plugging in the USB adapter to a different USB port on the computer you are using?

I am focusing on the USB adapter and port because the only problem I see is that when you plug in the USB while holding down the u (flashing from Linux is the most reliable way to go, in my experience) you don't ever see the USB logo on the right upper part of your N900 screen. This indicates that the N900 never sees a USB connection.

When I did this, by the way, I found that the N900 screen was exceedingly dim at that point, so it would be easy not to see the USB logo even though it actually does appear.

I have lost the original USB. I'm using a new one.

Yes, I've tried different ports.

Normal connection on Vista x86
It actually detects N900 for a while. Because I hear a beep from my computer that indicates a USB device is connected, and then, a second later, an indication of USB removal is told.

When trying cold-flash on Ubuntu x86
1) Ready Terminal with cold-flash
2) Remove battery
3) Plug USB + Hold U
4) Insert battery
5) Release U

Terminal detects the N900 but fails to flash as if the N900 was disconnected. The N900 is still on, displaying the Nokia logo and has the USB icon on the top-right. Nothing happens after that.

Re: Help! N900 got bricked!

I had problem of N900 rebooting endlessly.

By taking the battery out, putting it back and when the device was shutdown connecting usb while holding u from they keyboard i got to the "usb mode".

Biggest problem was that i just couldn't get my N900 reflashed with Vista 64-bit. Tried enabling unsigned drivers(that's not that easy anymore with SP2) and what not. In the end i throwed the device to my friend who got Ubuntu in his computer and all was ready in 3 minutes.

I would expect the same from all 32-bits.

Re: Help! N900 got bricked!

Two thoughts

a) After messing up my N900 I also flashed the mmc image to restore sanity
b) Flashing from Fedora 12 x86_64 was a dream. so quick and simple. Took about 60-90s for mmc and about 2 -2.5 mins for main flash. Just ridicuously easy

Re: Help! N900 got bricked!

I have to concur with the suggestion that you'll need to get your battery charged somehow. What I found out with my own flashing problems was that all the tries I did only resulted in an even flatter battery.

If you have access to a multimeter you can actually measure your battery. There are three connectors, just identify the +/- ones and measure over those. You should have more than 4 volts or your battery is low.

had.....the same problem

disconnect the battery then plug it back up. do not touch.

put the phone on the wall charger for over 45 minutes.

unplug let the usb sync be the first thing you do. there will only be enough charge for the sync.

hold down the u key and begin the flash. trust me your phone is not broke i recovered mines from that exact state. the problem is the charge trust me.

Re: Help! N900 got bricked!

Hi,

Every time I flashed mine from ubuntu 9.04 live cd, i have to drag flasher-3.5.exe file to desktop and also the eMMC vanilla and what every PR version I am playing with.

Also in terminal i have to type "sudo flasher-3.5 etc etc"

not "flasher-3.5 etc etc"...................note the "sudo"

and without the quote marks to make it clear..
