How about using http://www.amazon.com/SD-CF-II-Type-...]This adapter?
Then either add Eye Fi card or add an sd to micro sd adapter in teh sd to cf adapter then you could just remove the midosd and hot swap straight into the N900?

That's also an interesting option, but I'm afraid that the speed of 2 adapters won't be great. And I do need the speed for concert photography mostly.

I'm gonna see if I can test out a configuration like that in a computer shop nearby!

Ooh that sounds interesting! I'll look that up!

Any idea where I could find cables/adapters to get from mini-usb of my camera to the micro-usb of the N900?

It does not work on the N900.

I've done this with a normal camera. It is possible if you use an external device like this one which I used. It just copies files and works very well. I've copied >1 GB from a normal camera to N900's external microSD card without problems.

This thingy is very cheap so you can try it without loosing anything.

Of course, it should also copy anything between two usb devices (e.g. N900 and usb stick or camera and usb stick).

NOTE: This is not related to what other threads say about making N900 usb-host. The usb-host in this case is that simple device.

That's certainly one of the most interesting options, thanks!

How long does it usually take to copy about 1GB of data?

I don't remember. I only remember that it took some time but perhaps that was because of the write-speed of my microSD card.

As I said, try it. It is not expensive (I see that it costs 25€ incl. taxes where I live) and YMMV.

I've even found some cheap alternatives (6pounds on amazon), but I do need it to be quite fast, or I'm not going to take the effort for it probably :P

But I'll definitely try it out for myself soon, thanks for the advice!

If you try the USB-host way, the cable issue is easy: just use a regular (type A) female-to-female adapter. These extenders are common and cheap. Plug your camera cable in one side, the N900 cable in the other...

If you got the money get the wi-fi (battery) grip for the camera and you should be able to connect it to the N900 through ftp function.

I will get the wi-fi transmitter for my Canon 5D Mk II and see how it.works.
Would be awesome to be able to get em into the phone and be able to upload content right a way.

Wouldnt recommend buying the wi-fi grip if you plan to upgrade your camera in the near future, kind of expensive...

Unfortunately I don't have the money for that right now, and I don't use my camera so much anymore anyway. Only if it's easy and cheap will I try to get this working, which I will :P

I'll try the on the go usb bridge thing first, that's a handy thing to have anyway!

Totally understandable :)

One thing that you might want to have a look at is this device for future use, pretty "cheap" but probably a life saver when out travelling.
I will get one and use the wifi for studio/ location work.

Check this link about the hyperdrive: http://www.dpreview.com/news/1002/10...drivealbum.asp

Goodluck and please post if you get everything to work :D

That's definitely a very tempting device! But that's a little far in the future for me I'm afraid, and by that time I'll probably have a new camera and just use wifi to my phone with either a wifi battery grip or sd card. One less thing to carry around :P

I'll keep you updated when I get things working (in any way), hope my phone will arrive in a few days!
