yeah been using gpe but it just makes terrible use of screen real estate. i just cant be as productive with these tools as xplore.

I tried the GPE File Manager, and agree with the post above. Whilst it works, and does what it needs too, it could do it a lot better.

If i need to browse the file system, I tend to just SSH into it which works very well.

I think most people would want a file manager that can easily open all file types directly and also give them an option to enable/disable viewing of hidden/system folders without going to the terminal to type "sudo gainroot". I don't think most users would like to type commands in terminal.
