enable extras-devel and install google pinyin or mscim pinyin by firstfan(I'm currently using it.) Take it easy and do some search.

Does anyone know!?

so, you downloaded a software that has been compiled to following OSes::

Quote:

Windows 7/Vista/XP
Windows 2000(SP4)
and you can't get it to work with your N900.

I am not surprised....

Hi,

Disclaimer:
- I don't know how "msci-googlepinyin" works (don't use it / need it)
- Before activating extras-devel you should read the warning at:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras-devel

1. Take your N900 and open up the "App Manager"
2. Click on the HeaderBar
3. Click on the Application catalogs Button
4. Press New
5. Create a new Catalogue with the following Details:
Catalog name: maemo.org - extras devel
Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
Distribution: fremantle
Components: free non-free
6. Make sure "Disable" is not selected
7. Press the "Update" Button
8. wait...
9. Press the "Download" Button
10. Click on the HeaderBar
11. Press Search
12. Enter "pinyin"
13. Start Search
14. Select "msci-googlepinyin" from the list
15. Click it.
16. Check "I understand and agree"
17. Press Continue.
18. It should now be installing and work like the other guys describe (something with ctrl + space kombo)
