Great to see some positive posts about the N900! Yes, there is a few things the N900 doesn't do that some phones do, but at the same time, other phones don't do things that the N900 does! That's what makes phones different, and in the end, it all comes down to personal preference.

Credit where credit's due - this is an awesome device. To anyone thinking about an N900 - JUST BUY ONE!.

This is a phone with a computer despite what the hype says - no-one would buy this instead of a good laptop.

Every phone has it's good and bad points. Landscape/Portrait is not a problem for me, but lack of OVI Maps 3.0 is. The lack of a device-wide search engine is disappointing and I can't dial from numbers within emails or calendar appointments like I could on my old 6110 Navigator. I guess some or all of this will be coming soon but if not I'll sell it and get a device that does - hopefully another Nokia. Nothing lasts forever.

I use mine mainly as a phone; it's a tool more than a toy. I'm a User, not a Developer and there's nothing on the market I'd rather have right now. It's built like a tank and looks cool, IMO

Now I've configured homescreens and physical buttons to my liking the lack of speed dial is not an issue. I could never get voice commands to understand me unless it was deathly silent, and there's no other useable functionality that you can't add in with the amazing apps this community is developing - you guys deserve the same praise as Nokia.

Enjoy!

yawn - nothing to see here.

Can we not stick to useful problem solving or new idea generation than fanboyisms. Like the ""whinging", these threads come along every couple of days and just results in even more crap on here to read than usual.

Hmmm funny Ive not really seen that many posts on here that have thanked nokia for the phone, maybe your reading another forum? Oh and I believe I am actively promoting new idea's around app design, functionality and ways to develop.

Critism, such as not another useless crap post is probably the most pointless thing that someone can write other than actually clickin on reply and write it!
