Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
Did you install, to a running OS? ldconfig will make libs available, but the path would not be correct, unless you reboot, or if you were laying it on top my old tar, you would be ok.
So, Are you saying it's working? |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
it was a clean install, I hadn't installed your previous release. it's working great now.
did you install links2 compiled with X11 support? I wasn't paying attention when I was untarring it. if so, thanks. I thought I was going to have to build that myself. |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
I just tried this.. Way cool.
I tar'd up my current install for a backup and then just installed over how I already had it. I don't have some of the apps you mention so I need to get those from where ever and install them (minimo most noticably) but gaim in a real window on the n800 is awsome.. and kudos on gftp. I especially love being able to swtich back and forth. Just out of curiosity, where are all the config files to edit the menu and hotkeys if you don't mind. I have never worked with ROX or window manager and I could google.. but hoping I get to be lazy this once. |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
doh.. found the gui config.. would still like to know where the scripts and configs are ... off to scower /etc
EDIT Pay no attention to the man too lazy to not check /etc/ right off the bat.. I will flog myself.. carry on |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
One suggestion. You say we should install some apps to have all your shortcuts work.. since your untaring over /etc/apt/sources.list, it would be nice if the sources for those apps were active
|
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
sources.list
They should be, it should have all the sources enabled to get the things I mentioned. I did not enable all the mistral sources, but they are all there. |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
they don't show up in my red pill list. I will try from command line

Possible problem with libs
Symptom, trying to pair BT device will fail. It may pair, it say it paired but it does not work.
schmots, do you have an external keyboard? or bt phone? have you tried these yet? I think there may be a problem. I had problems with bluetooth, when I was using this, and then I fixed it. The problem was that the libs listed in /etc/ld.so.conf, were listed in the following order. I apparently forgot to change it in the mt tar... /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/local/lib /usr/lib /lib If I changed it to /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/lib /lib /usr/local/lib It fixed the problem. You have to reboot after changing it, ldconfig will not fix it. Nobody has reported to me that this is an issue, I just know that I ran into it and I thought I fixed it. So if anyone can confirm or deny this issue? |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
Bluetooth keyboard will be here any day now.
the three "monitors" on the right side.. I figure the one that always says 100% is cpu load.. whats the nope and the radar looking one? |
Re: Window Maker ROX Now Available
The onscreen keyboard makes the system run 100%, its hard to believe I know, because everything else seems fine. I am working on an alternate keyboard, but not available yet. Just shutdown the onscreen keyboard when not in use. Its been a problem since the first one, its just useable, so it has not been on the top of the list.
The radar looking one, is some representation of memory |
