Re: Enter To Send SMS In Conversations

No thankyou, I would consider this a bug - how would you send texts with line breaks in then?

Please don't encourage Nokia to make the user interface worse rather than better.

And it could be as easy as having the option to use enter to send or not. So everyone wins

It can just be an option to either have enter as a send key or line break key.

Uh, shift+enter for a line-break, like it is with most desktop IM applications.

Having a carriage-return send the message in IM, and not in an SMS convo is silly. Pick one or the other.

Good idea. My Texts seldom have more than one sentence anyway.

I'd say no to just enter, as I sometimes use it to format texts but I wouldn't mind ctrl + enter

I must say I'm against this suggestion. I like to use formatting in my texts although I might do this quite seldom.

Its just that IMO another issue arises if SMS behaviour is changed, and that is whether it should be changed for the IM messaging as well. If its changed for just one of these, it will result in an inconsistency, which will "look bad" but also increase the learning curve of the device. I'd rather know how everything works and have one way of doing it, instead of learning how things are done for every section of the OS/UI.

So I say let us put in line breaks with the enter key, the screen was made for sendin' :)

EDIT: Although yes, that ctrl + enter would be a different deal. That I could support. Maybe add the option to brainstorm?

EDIT2: Okay additional option added. http://maemo.org/community/brainstor...conversations/

Finally someone who understands what I'm saying lol. Having this as an option wouldn't remove the ability to add line breaks just add another way to send

Re: Enter To Send SMS In Conversations

this is just another request I do not understand...
SMS and IM texts are not the same! and I dont want SMs to be send with enter as they are paid for! Either way you subscribed for a plan including SMs or not as long as you dont live in .au you have to pay for it. Keep in mind that SMS is using a 160 chars slot in the indexer submission to the cell-towers and not instant streaming so I dont want to send 4 texts if it is to be one if that **** return sends it on press I will find myself out of my free SMS subscription plan real easy. Was this understandable?
