I've used it lots on several computers, especially my eee 1000h, and it has never let me down.

I am waiting in the airport, will take a good look at mint once home.

anyway, N900 currently does not have much goin on :)

I did make a ubuntu boot on a finger flash drive in the past and it has been working forever.

As I alluded to in earlier post, I did not learn too much about the eeePC and there is thus some phobia. I installing mint is NOT like installing mer on N8x0 :

Xandros has a bad reputation.

I would also advise to install Ubuntu. Default install of Xandros on eee is rather strangely configured - new versions of software do not replace old versions, but are installed on the side, which means that updates take much more space than they should.

I had (still have, but am not using it much lately) eee701 and after installing Ubuntu it was very good machine (I also upgraded memory to 2GB and was able to run Eclipse 3.5 on it - but limited screen size made it rather unpleasent to use).

Mint is in fact based on Ubuntu, so you should be on familiar territory...
