It's already been done, before you, for the Diablo port. Look at http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...7maemo2.tar.gz

And the Extra Decoders package won't help you; you need a handler in the program itself to handle the "mime_open" messages that are received when a file is opened. Look at that tarball and search for osso_rpc_set_cb_f in 01-hildon.dpatch.

Which repository? Extras devel? Is there a way to unzip a file on the device while staying away from extras-devel?

Hi what is it with the latest update. When I try to update xarchiver it says:
in xterm:
And the update although says successful in app manager keeps appearing every time.

Updated the app, now depends on *gasp* non-free packages since some users just don't know how to install the packages it needs.
Also updated the desktop file so that now it doesn't use the hildon theme.
Although this has the downside that you need a stylus now (slightly finger usable), the UI is much much more usable (everything was cramped with the hildon theme).
Unpacking seems to work for me, I'll wait for user feedback on what fails and what doesn't.
I haven't added the patch that allows open with to work yet.

How to zip a file from this? I can't seem to zip or .rar any file, but I can unzip and unrar.

Test with the new package please (if it's not yet in devel then the importer is fooked).

(P.S, yes, I zipped /bin/bash as a test :p)

Edit: oh and save to "Nokia N900", saving will fail if you save to /, I'm not changing the desktop file to run this as root, for obvious reasons.
