If you buy a giant capacity Mugen battery for the N900 it will show 100% for many hours.. This doesn't really deal with your concern, but it is a good feeling.

I use the ulv kernel mentioned with a link in the Overclocking Wiki and it seems to substantially improve battery life.

Isn't this possible to fix through software? I mean the restriction seems to be a SW problem more than a HW.

Unfortunatley a Mugen battery is not an option. I don't need it to be thicker than it already is...

Had excactly the same issue as #1.
Then after i charged it fully with wall charger, i connected it to my computer with usb and charged it for another half hour. And now it charges fully everytime with wall charger after that :) (1222mAh and it reports my battery is max at 1250mAh)

It has something to do with the pc usb cable charging at a lower rate so the battery is more acceptable to filling battery up more.
