I can make my n900 share its media to my network with mediatomb (keeping this thread on topic) but this isn't much use if the ps3 can't view the videos I've taken.

I think the one that's in the repo is out of date. Considering they're up to version 7 or so..

This just works by default. Just open Media Player and you will see your media server in the bottom left corner of main screen. (At least for mp3 it works for me fine - I haven't try movies yet though.)

Can anyone comment on what version of Rygel was used for streaming the content from N900 to other device. I have Rygel 0.4.10 from the fatal.se repository running on N900. I then run XMBC client onWindows. The client doesn't see N900 device in the WiFi network.
