Re: Huawei S7, 7" android tablet
This is now available at Best Buy in USA. Has anyone been able to put MeeGo/Maemo on it and still keep the 3G/WiFi working?

Also, were you able to keep Android on the device or at least back it up to restore later? |
Re: Huawei S7, 7" android tablet
As I understand it, it is not yet possible to do a recovery image on the S7. Although it is being worked on.
I haven't seen anywhere that anyone has claimed to have booted anything other than Huawei images. From my S7 |
Re: Huawei S7, 7" android tablet
I don't trust anything made by Huawei.

Re: Huawei S7, 7" android tablet
Ahhh, I have read that thread, but it seems a little dicey to me. Besides I have no real interest in running MeeGo on anything right now. I'm not a developer, and MeeGo is still a developers' toy.
That said, I am quite happy with my S7 (another reason I have no interest in MeeGo on it). The battery could have been bigger. The resistive screen is fine, it got 512MB memory (not 256 as op says), can be o/c'd to 1GHz. Thanks to the folks at androidtablets, I have apps2sd hacked on, so there's plenty of room for apps. I have ADW with widgets, and have removed the stock Hauwei launcher. Replaced the wpa_supplicant file so it can see the ad-hoc connection from my N900. It works well for what I wanted, in fact I use it more than my N900 now. As you've noticed, plenty of good info on androidtablets, and they're pretty helpful as well. |
