Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock

The whole settings reset after reboot is just to protect your N900 from bad overclocks, so you don't need to reflash everytime your overclock fails, anyway check this post http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=774 go to the bottom of it and you will find how to make custom widgets to apply overclocks on the fly, cheers.

edit: or just do what gtessier00 said if you are sure your overclock is all stable and good.

You must edit the kernel according to the limits you want to use.
Let's say you want to stay on 250-805 limits, using the LV kernel:
sudo kernel-config load lv
sudo kernel-config limits 250 805
sudo kernel-config save lv8
sudo kernel-config load lv8
sudo kernel-config default lv8
This way, even after reboot, you'll stay in 250-805
Hope it helped

Sweet deal. Thanks.

How do u keep it at a certain clock without doing it through the terminal every time you reboot?

I am using "Desktop Command Execution Widget".

It is very handy for me.

Oh damn I voted before reading your post.

I voted for 900Mhz, but I never even tried over that.

Sorry :c

EDIT: OK I'm at 1000Mhz now.. oddly warm this thing, I think I'll go back to 900MHz

my 24/7 is 1150mhz since overclocking was discovered

I'm using Fecn's dbus scripts to automatically adjust the clock speed according to temperature:

Works great, and this way the CPU is never cooked... ;)

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock

1150 works here using "ideal" profile.

Note: I did need to pump up the voltage a little for 850MHz and 950MHz speeds, but 1000, 1100 and 1150 voltage settings are same as "ideal".

I'm likely to settle for 1000MHz as for 24/7 setting.

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock

Mine won't quite make 1150, but runs 1100 stable at 72 voltage.

I usually run 1GHz @62 -- 60 wasn't stable, 61 seemed to be, so I gave it an extra kick to avoid surprises.

I'm at 1000 MHz @ 56 without apparent trouble.

Re: Your N900 Maximum Overclock

So I voted for 850, but I've never run at a higher rate. If you are thinking that everyone voting crashed at higher than the max they listed, I think several votes such as mine don't reflect that. I have a feeling that mine will do 1Gh with ideal, but don't intend to try.
