LOL you typed this as i found it but i have not even tried yet but i think it is safe to say it IS official and released but what now?.

Yes, it is missing closed components. We have to wait tomorrow for them.

I amnot so sure your right because i think this image .. meego-codedrop-arm-n900-closed-201003311635.ubiimg along with the qflasher download is all that is needed... i think.

No that's wrong. That's the old CLI/Terminal only image. Note the date: 20100331 < March 31st.

You want meego-handset-armv7l-n900-nokia-closed-1.0.80.8.20100630.ks (June 30th 2010).

It isn't a flashable image.. you have to build it yourself using the mic-image-creator tools.

Nope, it is just the day one release, look at the date on the filename carefully.
