Re: alternate window manager (n900 specific) - blackbox or fluxbox
Yeah I'm still using it. For the past several years I've been booting maemo into an xterm that I compiled from source, and I just run "debian fluxbox" from there. Everything works (but it's really hacky) especially compared to android or IOS. To each their own.
I have some videos on youtube, but they're not geared towards demoing anything in particular. I don't see myself finding much time to do a real demo video or anything. FWIW, I'm hoping the neo900 (booting into debian + SHR) should work like this out of the box without having to hack a bunch of crap. |

Ive followed yours and wikiwides posts in that other thread and was able to boot with hildon desktop+blackbox (since i didnt disable hildon-desktop) however as i didnt set blackbox theme or bbkeys it was pretty unusable since this is my daily phone im not testing it that often. Also how did you solvethose problems you posted in first post? also how can i boot into terminal? (ive searched but i just cant find it), if op or anybody else have info then please post here. I think you should definetly document this in wiki or this thread as this was the only alternate wm thread for n900 i could find. |
