That's exactly the point. Maemo 5 already has video calling through Skype and Gtalk built into the OS. If we are able to one-up Apple by also getting Facetime application that's the centerpiece of their iPhone4 advertising push then it makes our devices more attractive.

I like your sarcasm: lets catch up with the revolutinary standard for telecom set by Apple and iPhone. 'The last thing I saw was you holding it wrong!'

seriously having skype is the killer app, but people don't seem to recognise it.
In our company we use Skype for homeworkers.

Needless to say the N900 has redefined HOME for me thanks to the integrated Skype client. Yes it works on 3G. Flawless quality.

People should get creatve in enjoying what they have instead of needing to get spooned in new things all the time.

That said a decent QT standard cross platform multi platfor email client would be no luxury.

Having Skype is indeed the killer app. Having Skype continue to get updates would be the killer implementation.

I was doing some reading about apps... and found this web-accessible Apple's AppStore top (download) charts. Maybe it can serve as a starting point for those looking for ideas or whatever:

From a standards-nerd point of view, Facetime is actually really good news: http://youshottheinvisibleswordsman....pen-standards/

Given that Facetime is considerably more open than Skype, saying "no thanks" to Facetime is a bit short-sighted.

I find it interesting that most of the top applications are games. This seems to be the area where web apps really don't cut it. At least we already have the 1. best selling iPhone app: Angry Birds :D
