I agree 100%. I'm a Mac user - no Adobe CS5 on Linux yet - and honestly I use their products, but you will not hear me take on Steve Jobs agenda as my own ever.

Fanboys annoy, users use. The rest is hot air.

Yes and no. When Nokia (or any other device manufacturer for that matter) releases a brand new product, they dont go out of their way to convince you that the one you currently own is way past its use by date.

iPhone -> 3G = faster 3g networking
iPhone 3G -> 3GS = twice as fast
iPhone 3GS -> 4 = Biggest leap forward / screen 4 times clearer

They always compare their new model to their old one. You can argue that they need to show people whats new and good about the new product, but that sort of marketing is designed to make the older product obsolete.

I see your first point but I'm baffled with the second one.

Planned obsolescence is best seen in NIT lineage. At least Apple supports their old handsets (although in limited fashion) through more than a couple of iOS upgrades.

Only ipod 3 gen. here, traded it to my loved Zippo when i was drunk and decided to stop smoking...

My only wish is to rollback time, not to drink and not to trade... sigh.

Good question. My stepson once stuck a thermometer in his mouth. Guess where his mom had just used it.
