Re: winmapper - updated
Hi!
Is there an easy way to convert the downloaded tiles to a db? Thanks! |
Re: winmapper - updated
As far as my experience goes, sqlite seems to use hardware-native formats, so that a x86-generated sqlite db would not work on an ARM target. That is, such an utility could be easily built to run on the tablet (where it would of course lose half the sex appeal of such a db builder, as you'd still have to transfer the full pack of files), but a PC-side db builder would be a big programming effort (effectively a cross-architecture backend rewrite).

Re: winmapper - updated
So I guess my question is: is there a way of downloading maps in winmapper and transfering them to maemo mapper 2.2? Somehow, if I try to download the maps for my city directly from MM it tells me the size will be something like 2.2Gb, but if I do the same from winmapper I get 100Mb of files. Am I doing something wrong?

That being said, the older version(s) had some problems with forward (rather than backwards) compatibility so having library version mismatches could really mess things up. See http://www.sqlite.org/onefile.html for more information on using the same file on different platforms. Now berkleydb's... man those are a pain cross platform :-( Chris |
Re: winmapper - updated
Nice app.
Is it possible to get it to work with Google Terrain? The area download in Maemo Mapper does not work for me. It goes for a little while and then crashes out with no error messages... Thanks in advance. |

Hey, I tried using this to download maps for my state, but it keeps giving me the error "TprogressBar property out of range". Any ideas?
