Maybe so, but there are a few things missing from Meego 1.1 that might change your mind if you look at the bug list.

Where did I write Meego 1.1? :) Of course that if it is unusable it doesn't even count... and then again, if it is unusable, why would you want to dualboot onto it? Maybe once for the curiosity sake...

More customized setups are possible for the daring.

However. You might need to use a u-boot suitable SD card image and I can't promise it'll be around on exact day of 1.1, but we'll see what we can do.

Is there a wiki somewhere to learn about bootable SD-cards ?
Is it possible to have a bootable partition on existing SD-cards, so you don't have to change cards ?
Will it be possible to unse the second partition with data for both Maemo AND MeeGo (pictures, music etc.) ?

I want to reformat:
- the little partition (2GB) with msdos
- the big partition with ext3
like indicated in the maemo wiki.

Is that future save for:
a) dual boot with NitDroid
b) dual boot with Meego
c) possible future releases of Maemo?

...and
Is it possible to dual-boot from a directory of the ext2 partition?

What will happen if things go right:

* Package install from extras-devel that enables the u-boot boot loader.
* Upon startup, if there is a SD card that's bootable, it will boot the SD card, with MeeGo. Otherwise, it will boot Maemo.

question,

is it possible to boot the kernel from emmc other than maemo ?

A prompt allowing selection would be nice, having to remove the battery & card every time one wants to switch OS will probably get very old very quickly.

It's suited for any kind of kernel boot.

If it's using U-Boot it should be suited even for non-Linux OSs (eg *BSD or Symbian if one cares enough to port them).

You don't have to remove the battery to change the microSD in the N900, only the back cover. You do need to remove the battery to change the SIM card, though.
