I got mine stable with 1150mhz @ starving while playing psx4m for 2 hours... Would that mean I can still push it more? Just asking if it's capable but not planning to overclock my n900. Just tested it's limits :D

People have gotten the Motorola Droid, which uses the same SoC as the N900 to 1300mhz.

It can go higher than 1150mhz, the limit is only in place for user's safety.

Personally I have been running @ 1150MHz for a WHILE and I have NEVER experienced any kind of error and my battery life is just fine.

I started out at 850MHz for a month and then figured why not try 1000MHz then after all was well with 1000MHz for a day I set it at 500MHz-1150MHz and all is perfect.

Perhaps I should use my little pocket hydrogene cooler together with my n900.

My N900 already becomes a little bit instable at 900Mhz (the one program that appears to be indicating instability best is MicroB for some reason). I haven't tried increasing the voltage though...it's a tradeoff between battery and performance. But I would guess there's a clear difference between older and newer devices in production. Mine is older (Nov. 2009) and is not as 'overclockable' like I would guess newer ones are.

What do you mean by "unstable"? I bought mine the first week it was out.

to make this clear to every dumb person not using his brain..
unstable isnt related to the frequency but is relevant to volting
if undervolted, the frequency wont get enough power to work effeciently resulting in restarts, jams, and closing of applications..

the MOST stable volting is the nokia's default settings..

AFAIK its the newer ones that have more trouble clocking to higher freqs, i got mine in january and its stable all the way to 1150Mhz on ideal, i've heard from alot of people with newer devices that they cant get past 800-850Mhz although all chips are different and im sure some of the newer ones can get all the way up to 1150Mhz.

Yes, briefly[1]. Once the magic smoke has escaped you can never put it back in.

[1] unless you are prepared to use specialised cooling solutions that make the device decidedly non-portable, in which case just get a beagle^Wpandaboard.
