I've been more than satisfied with the speed increase I have recieved from upgrading to pr1.3.

I only OC when gaming and even then I never go over 850mhz

Does it?

Is there a quote from Nokia stating that?

Is it legal to void warranty for this reason where you live?

Do you know of one person who had warranty fix refused due to overclocking? I did not see a report on this forum yet.

Most people are saying they went BACK to default. Doesn't that mean you switched kernels previously which means your warranty would've been void?

Exactly.

I run @ 1ghz Starving. Goes to max 42 Degrees Celsius. Even in a hot room.

It only voids your waranty if the repair's place see you have overclocked. I have power kernel and oc'd to 1Ghz but trying to do maemo's update to pr1.3 screwed up my phone and it wouldn't turn on. took it back and got it fixed uder the waranty no problems :)
I guess if it won't turn on then what they can't see won't hurt ay?

900MHz with lehto since day one...now at 1000MHz with power 45...not a single problem....well....sometimes the web browser crashes but other than that its great.

If the phone breaks up because of overclocking, probably they won't fix it (if they found that you overclocked it). If something else stopped working, but NOT overclocking's fault, i guess they still repair.
Not sure anyways.

Well, either the Overclocking docs are lying or the warranty is voided -- which do you think?

I seem to recall Peter of Nokia making such a statement. It might be mentioned in one of the first 500 or so messages in the Overclocking thread.

In fact, despite claims to the contrary, I don't think Nokia can prove whether or not an N900 has been overclocked.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but today, Peter@Maemo and Tekojo (both Nokia employees) have reiterated the official stance: Do not overclock the N900, it is a bad idea and it will void the warranty.

It's funny -- I was just looking at the original Overclocking thread. Posts to it have decreased dramatically. That's because Overclocking is no longer very controversial. Many, many people do it, and almost no one has claimed to have suffered as a result.
