curious why you don't think the hardware can support 21Mbps; I didn't think it could exceed 10Mbps myself, and just found out I was wrong. Do you have info on the max speed the N900 hardware can support?

The hardware specs state that maximum DL speed is 10Mpbs

http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/specifications/

I too have gotten around 12-13Mbps on the n900 using wifi, but my connection is 50Mpbs so it is certainly not the network holding it back. I get a solid 20Mpbs DL on my laptop.

All that being said, I would love to be proven wrong :D

Wifi throughput is irrelevant to this topic, hope you realize that.

Well, I think it's hard to get exacts when it comes to networks. What I mean by that:

I never get anything over 25Mbits a second on Cox buy my plan says I get around 100Mbits.

Rapidshare and other websites "limit" free downloaders to around 100KBs sometimes, yet even when they blatantly say the dl limit is 100KB, I can get around 200 to 300.

The N900 tops out at 10Mbits but sometimes I can get 12 or 14Mbits.

Stats like that just goes to show it's never exactly what they say it is.
