Works fine and took all of 5 minutes to do, the other 5 was finding and editing the icons...if only quick-launch allowed for multiple entries, I could leave this directly under the media player entry and create a second set of shortcuts to the left of it.

EDIT: Reversing tracks doesn't work and when selecting 'resume' it will begin playing the track from the beginning. I suspect these are bugs within dbus IPC and media player. OMP or SomePlayer probably work fine.

i wish i could create, code or generate this. im sorry but its a big deal for me to be able to control music from the status area.
