Where can I get it?

:(

Did you try to install it from xterminal?

Code:

apt-get install ffmpeg
Because I was curious, I checked around and found this post. Maybe it could be useful.

ffmpeg is commandline so Application Manager will not show it even though it is in extras.

in xterm:
root
apt-get install ffmpeg

ffmpeg is COMMANDLINE. You run it in xterm. You should google for its manual.

According to your screenshot you successfully installed ffmpeg.

As casketizer said, ffmpeg is not app which you going to see in menu, you need to run proper command line from xtreminal to convert video. Check my previous post, where I posted link to another thread where is such command.

I thought the ffmpeg version on the N900 was a little crippled. Hence no support for mp3 audio and a few other formats (forgot which ones but Mp3 is a definit as I wanted to convert videos to audio only). Making video conversion limited. Correct me if I'm wrong or missed something :)

You need to use nokiaaacenc to save it as aac and convert it to something else later. Some said ogg enc works as well, but I have not try it as aac suits my need.

@pedrocoba ffmpeg is pain if you don't need the flexibility it offers. You may consider Any Video Converter Professional. Be aware do not use 'original' in size, otherwise the aspect ratio would be changed; you need to calculate the actually dimension to have it fitted perfectly on your N900. Also, I use xvid encoding and .mkv as container(you might need extra decoder support in this case). You decide what sampling rate and frame rate is, as it affects output size and quality.

Hope this helps.

@Blaizzen,
It has some video encoders disabled but mp3 should work.

PS: you just got tag editing too :) 300 posts ftw :)
