Happened to me here. Simply go to app manager and remove advance power monitor. You should have the default battery indicator left. Wait for an update to fix it.

Uninstalling Advance monitor would surely work .. the issue was posted here to find a resolution for the conflict and not to uninstall the app and wait and sit !

I've not looked at it exactly to see what the issue is but I've installed an older version (which seems to be working):

from console :

wget http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d....5.3-3_all.deb

and then
dpkg -i advanced-power-monitor_0.5.3-3_all.deb

Re: Apmd

I uninstalled advanced-power in the program manager, performed an update and upgrade in the console and reinstalled advanced-power in the console. Then it worked again.

2. login as root (sudo gainroot)

3. apt-get advanced-power-monitor --reinstall

With this new powerkernel my N900's apmd (advanced power monitor) hasn't worked anymore. The battery icon on the status bar is grey, and it says "Starting APMD" all the time in status menu.

--reinstalling apmonitord does not help, neither rebooting.

Lots of these in the /var/log/syslog:
