Re: "We want Nokia to keep MeeGo" petition
i don't think there is any message to convey here.
for better or for worse NOKIA is embarked on the wpX barge now. Symbian is the old molly dragging along the canal until she dies  MeeGo is the little rescue boat tailing behind the barge; they hope never to have to use it, except maybe to go to the other side of the canal in a hurry, but they wouldn't want to lose it, now, would they? |
Re: "We want Nokia to keep MeeGo" petition
I don't disagree with the points about the content, but IF the petition gained enough signatures (and offhand I don't know what the quantity is) then Elop would have to acknowledge it. Now, how he would or would not act, who knows. But it's a form of feedback, however flawed, and provides one means of crafting a community message.
Of course, people can alternatively just spew pointless venom and see how that works. |
Re: "We want Nokia to keep MeeGo" petition
if n9 gets here and apps i need i am buying it
|
Re: "We want Nokia to keep MeeGo" petition
Elop will certainly understand one me$$age...
so will the share holders. but even if the N9 sells in millions, there isn't going to be another MeeGo device from NOKIA for @ least a year. and even then it would take them @ least another year to get MeeGo devices ready by then, every other phone company except maybe apples would have MeeGo phones on the market. |
Re: "We want Nokia to keep MeeGo" petition
I think if the signees care enough about this situation (and sympathize enough w/ the OP) then someone should help him rewrite the petition.
Cause if this thing gains enough numbers to be 'visible': 1. It's a bad reflection of the 'community' because contains so many mixed messages, many of which are based on fiction (conspiracy theory) and misguided fanboyism. 2. Then again, we may not have to worry about #1 because it's just hard to read :) |
Re: "We want Nokia to keep MeeGo" petition
1430 votes in the first 8 minutes, this might do some damage ! go Meego !
edit: I didn't read it right, the petition is 1 day old. Very small damage then :( thanks for trying anyway. |
