My intuition says that you might be a bit confused as to where the folders are, but it's probably /usr/share/themes/humanity which you might well find is empty. Maybe the uninstall scripts didn't quite clear up. Or maybe you modified one of the files in there so it didn't delete it. Whilst you're in xterm and if you're feeling wild, paste the output of "ls -la /usr/share/themes/" Google around for guides to get started in linux x-term - it's a very handy skill to have ;) |

Re: HELP to REMOVE APPS
Just search through your /Opt and / (root). Be careful what you remove. But most things are in /home and /opt.

@jafferkhan
So... you're new to linux. Well fear not, a lot of us are/were when we got our N900 (apologies to the N8x0 people). The terminal (XTerminal) is extremely useful, though at times daunting and unwieldy. However, remembering a few commands will get you a long way and give you confience to try/learn more. Look at this handy page for terminal commands and this one to explain the ls command. NB. The Maemo terminal is slimmed down so doesn't have all the unix/linux commands but most are supported. The terminal has two modes: user and root. It is unlikely you'll do any real damage to your deivce as "user" (default) because you can't edit/delete a lot of the files that make your device operate. As "root", however, be careful - this mode is non-default for a reason and errors can mean reflashing*! When someone says "paste the output," it is normal (more useful to the person assisting you) to extract the text from the terminal and use the [CODE /] tags so it displays as monospace. Text can be selected the terminal by pressing on the arrow icon (bottom-left) and dragging the cursor up to the input line. Then press the bar at the top and select Copy to put this text on the clip board so you can paste it into another programme. Please would you paste the Text Output of ls -a <folder_path> for the folders suggested above. I'm not saying I'll be able to assist myself but you need to give all the info you have to hand so others can actually help you - and so you don't get slammed!. *reflashing is nothing to be frightened about. It's just a pain to have to set up the device again! And just before I sign-off: when people give you help, remember to press the Thanks button. |
