Yeah try running it with no SIM, and use this app to disable the cell modem, see if it works.

It doesn't start at all now ( again )... Will try if it ever starts up again.

Not trying to be, just su*ks that it wont work as a phone any more, but at least it still works as you described, i unfortunately don't have any help/idea what's wrong. I to have old phones that doesn't work as phones any more, and they are absolutely useless because of this, at least the N900 can still be used for many many purposes other then a phone.

Well I'm not 100% certain that the phone part is dead. If the phone modem was dead, I'd understand why it crashes on a call and shut downs. However, that doesn't explain why it refuses to even start up after that with DAYS and suddenly out of nowhere it boots without a problem :|

This is not the most recommended way, but try to short the + & - in the PHONE only, the way to kick back some battery's in my experience (and i do have some hehe) is to apply MAX 4.2V to the battery directly + to + & - to -. this is directly to the circuit (plastic top).

Shorting the phone + & - could remove any power stored in capacitors, this would be the same that happened after some days of just laying around.

Hm, I didn't really get it. So I just need a wire to connect the + and - of the phone itself ( where the battery connects with the phone ), without actually having the battery plugged in?

Jep, just hold it on there for, well try 1-3 sec, see if it will turn on/boot, if not try more and more.

use a wire/screw driver/coin anything conducting.

+ and - is the first 2 closest to the edge of the battery compartment
