it's not about listening; they are hardly selling anything, so they better listen alright.
more desperate then anything else

it's about the fact that i can manage my device & install & remove whatever i want whenever i want.
and it works :p
m@ke$$h!t' $h!t simply doesn't work
period.

ppl are tired of having that kind of crap on their computers, they are not going to fall for it any more, certainly not if they have (better) free alternatives. well, one, @ least...
thus the patent war, buying of Motorola mobile et cetera et cetera et cetera...

PLUS: when is the last time you paid for an app you installed on your N900?

No need to wait. Go and test WP7 phone in a shop or read Mango reviews, like this one from Arstechnica. http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/rev...o-reviewed.ars.

Imagine Nokia logo to one of those pictures and you have the first Nokia WP7 phone. Specs will be identical or nearly identical and user experience exactly the same.

Yes that is exactly my opinion regarding Open Office / Libre Office... :)

Your memory has failed you. Microsoft Office is on Mac as well. It's IE and Windows Media Player that's no longer offered on the Mac.

And next time, please spell the damn things out. I absolutely hate reading those kinds of posts and having to decipher what the hell people mean. M$ - is this slashdot now!?

how much is the fruit company (... you know who i'm talking about, right?) paying for the port?
and still, the user has to pay on top of that ¦-)))))))

200% sure, it's not, repeat not, available on Linux/GNU...
how comes?

Apple doesn't pay anything for the port. Microsoft has profitable Mac Business Unit. Btw, it's actually easier and takes less keystrokes to write Apple than to write fruit company.

Maybe because Linux on desktop has <1% marketshare and it's pretty much non-existent in office work space?

Microsoft, stock symbol MSFT, has a BU, a business unit set aside only for Mac products and development. Apple, stock symbol AAPL, does not pay for Microsoft Office; the application suite you erroneously assumed was no longer around previously.

And yes, like most software on OS X and Windows, you do have to pay for it. Here you go.

No **** Sherlock. It's not there for a good reason - lemme give you a hint: People wouldn't pay for it. OpenOffice, KOffice, many other alternatives that people use (I use NeoOffice/J on OS X) and use well exist there on GNU/Linux. Those (usually) educated users are using better, freer options that fit into the business daily operations without sacrificing usability nor ability to anything Microsoft could produce. Smarter for that type of user, even smarter for Microsoft to take notice.

Hint over. Toodles.

Former MCSE/MCDBA - can't say I'm a Windows lover, but I'm a frequent Windows user and hell... they paid the bills for over a decade.
